Washington University endocrine and oncologic surgeons treat sarcomas, rare malignant tumors that may develop anywhere in the body including bones, muscles and joints.

All sarcoma patients are evaluated and treated with a multidisciplinary approach that includes surgical oncologists, orthopedic oncologists, radiologists and pathologists. Treatment may involve radiation therapies and medical oncology. Each case is discussed at a weekly, multidisciplinary conference that is attended by surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and nurses.
